Amazing Anya is my loving and accomplished partner. Anya passed her Canine Good Citizen test at 5 months old, the youngest dog they ever tested. She is an amazing ambassador to this breed. Anya goes to work with me and is an amazing therapy dog. We are working towards getting her hours for service dog.
Anya walked into the Land O'Lakes AKC show January 2023. She had never been to a dog show before, she was in her full Minnesota winter coat. I had never been in a dog show before, was not prepared, and walked into the ring. There were 1600 dogs there. It was overwhelming. People walked up to us in droves to meet and see a Leonberger. It was just amazing. Anya took it all in stride. The judge was so kind and helpful and told us that I had to take her into the owner handler class. Not bad for 2 girls just off the farm. We went to a UKC show a few months later, groomed, and ready to go. Anya received her Championship there, took 2nd in Group twice, 2nd in youth best of show and multiple group placings. It was a long 4 days but we learned a lot.
