Summer Wrap Up:

  • In August we went to the Northern Lights Dressage Show with Luchador and Lucero. Both performed well in Training Level.

  • In September we competed at the year end CSDEA Fall Festival Championship show. Luchador rode well but had his best rides in the warm up ring. He has decided he can randomly throw in flying lead changes.

July - Midsummer Dressage Show:
Lucero and Luchador competed under saddle and at the Sport Horse in Hand class. Since there were mares and foals competing before us in the Sport Horse in Hand classes the organizers were very concerned about having 2 stallions around them. We stood on the edge of the field with both studs almost falling asleep. They almost cancelled our class because they couldn't "find" the stallions for the class. They overlooked us because the boys were so well behaved. Lucero took first with Luchador coming in 2nd for the stallion class. Both scored in the 60's on their riding tests earning many first and 2nds.

June - St. Croix Classic Dressage Show:
We took Luchador BP and Lucero BP to the first open show of the season. Both did very well showing at Intro and Training Level.

May - Minnesota Horse Expo:

  • I decided to take Salanda D; Keara BP; Nochera D and Lucero BP to the expo. It was a great time, hectic, but great fun. We met a lot of new friends and ran into some old ones too! We certainly received a ton of looks, especially when people noticed the shaved tails and roached manes of the mares. And what was the most frequently asked question? "Why is their mane like that?" Lucero was an excellent breed ambassador. We kept his stall door open so people could pet him. He was a true gentleman letting children fawn all over him. Most could not believe he was a stallion.

  • Salanda D finally had an exceptional grey filly by Heroe Mac. We have waited for a long time for this filly and are very pleased to welcome Solea BP to our herd. Look for this filly in the coming years.

  • Congratulations to Mary on her purchase of Valiente BP. He is off to do great things at a dressage home.
