August 2011: Northern Lights Dressage Show

  • Luchador attended his first dressage show and did amazing. He showed USDF Intro Level test A and B. He placed 6th in the first test and 2nd in the last test. The following weekend he competed again at Intro Level Test A, B and C. He placed first in Test A and C, and 2nd in test B. He constantly scored 66-68%. What a great job for a 3 year old stallion.

July 2011: Baroque Horse of the Midwest Regionals

  • Lucero won Best Movement on the qualifying day, and then earned Top 5 for Regional Champion Best Movement. He also placed 3rd for Regional Champion Stallions Ages 3 & 4. For Regional Champion Armature to Handle Stallions he placed 2nd.

  • Keara became the Regional Champion Jr. Mare and took 2nd in the Regional Champion Armature to Handle Mares.

  • Nochera D was our surprise entry; she won the Senior Mare class and went on to be the Champion Mare of the show. In the Regional Sr. Mare class she earned a Reserve Championship. I took her out of the pasture and off to her first show and she performed like it was nothing out of the ordinary for her.

  • Arabella did excellent; in the Regional Mares 2 and under she won Reserve Champion. Not bad for a 2 month old filly at her first show! She is also the IALHA Futurity Champion Weanling Filly.

June 2011:

  • The Baroque Horse Show in June was a success.  Lucero placed 3rd in Best Movement and won his age group in halter.  Keara won her age group and went on to be Champion Junior Mare. Thanks everyone for your help at the show.

May 2011:

  • We are excited to announce that Salanda D and Nochera D have had amazing foals on May 14 & May 15. Nochera D had a gorgeous filly whose personality makes her a show stopper. Salanda D had a huge colt who is as fearless as his sister is friendly. Both will grey and be tall horses, they have excellent athletic ability, we expect great things from both!

  • MS Tormenta has gone to live with Jeni M., she is off to be a Mounted Patrol Horse. Congratulations Jeni on your wonderful mare!
