Coya

In loving memory of Coya.  You may be gone, but are never far from our hearts.

This was our wonderful girl who started the journey with us, but did not get to see the end.  She died of cancer on April 18th, 2005.  Just one week before we moved to the farm.

The one with the most toys wins!

Cooper

Two months after the loss of my girl I was cruising around the internet and just happened to search www.Petfinder.org for Alaskan Malamutes.  I have NO idea why I did that, I really didn’t want another Mal, but then I stumbled onto this dog.  Her story was truly tragic.   Cooper, an eight year old Alaskan Malamute had been raised by a loving couple and lived with another female Malamute.  In February, Cooper’s “Parents” were killed in a snowmobileing accident, the two dogs were separated and Cooper went into a rescue.  At this point she carried her stuffed dog around in her mouth and cried.  I thought this would be perfect, she was crying for her family, and I was crying for my puppy.  I arranged with the rescue to meet her.  Chris and I took her home that night.  It was rough at first, she had a very nervous stomach, but after that first week it smoothed out.

Things have turned out well, she is a welcome addition to the family.  The only problem is she believes the cats are puppies and they should play with her!
